Upholder of Vedic dharma, Propagator of Sri Ramanuja Sampradayam, inspirer of people for true philanthropic works and messenger of the world for peace and brotherhood, if we combine all of these qualities we arrive at the great Soul, Sri Paramahamse:thya:di Thridandi Chinna Sri:manna:ra:yana Jeeyar Swamiji. On the auspicious Ka:rthi:ka month, Swathi Nakshathram 53 years ago, Sri: Swa:miji took avatharam in this prapancham. True Spirituality taught in vedas is made practical for even laymen by Sri: Swa:miji. Only the successor of Sri: Paramahamse:thya:di Pedda Sri:manna:ra:yana Jeeyar Swamiji's can exhibit such auspicious qualities. Sri: Swa:miji's 53rd Thirunakshathra Maho:thsavam is grandly celebrated by more than 10,000 devotees together at Si:thanagaram, Vijayawada apart from lakhs more in different parts of the world on 29th October 2008. Sri: Aho:bila Ra:ma:nuja Jeeyar Swa:miji coordinated the celebrations in Sithanagaram.

Paramahamsa Parivra:jaka A:cha:ryas Sri Ashta:kshari Jeeyar Swa:miji of Vijayawada and Ra:machandra Jeeyar Swa:miji of Bhimavaram also graced the event. Sri UVe Samudrala Rangara:ma:nuja:cha:rya Swami, Sri UVe Ra:machandra:cha:rya Swami (editor of Bhakthinivedana magazine), Sri UVe Pentapadu Ra:ma:nuja:cha:rya Swa:mi and many other Ubhaya Veda:ntha Vidwa:ns also participated in the auspicious event. Devotees came from all over Bharath and abroad.

Since midnight of 28th October itself devotees thronged to Swa:miji's Asramam. At 4:30 AM, Swa:miji gave first darshan. After morning anushta:nams theertha go:shti started at 7:30 AM and it continued up until 11:30 AM as thousands turned up for the event. Swa:miji caringly gave Sri:pa:da Theertham till the last devotee and then started the most coveted Jeeyar Puraskaram program. To commemorate Sri Thridandi Pedda Jeeyar Swa:mi's efforts to protect Sruthis, Sri: Swa:miji honours one great Veda Panditha each year with Jeeyar Puraskaram. This year the honour is awarded to Brahmasri: Vishnubhatla Subrahmanya Sa:sthrigaru. To the auspicious occassion three advaitha renunciants also attended.

Sri: Samudra:la Ranga Ra:ma:nuja:cha:rya Swami, Sri: Ra:machandra:cha:rya Swami have explained the significance of the award and this year's awardee's contributions to Veda parampara system.

The kind of services done to Veda parampara by Sri: Pedda Jeeyar Swa:miji is remembered on the occassion. To name a few, Sri: Pedda Jeeyar Swa:miji have conducted 'Akhila Bha:ratha Ve:da Vidwath Samme:lanam' in the year 1972 with 3000 Veda Pandithas in New Delhi to which the then Prime Minister of India Sri:mathi Indira Gandhi also attended and astonished at the efforts of Sri: Swa:miji. Because of hurdles for Vaidika matham by foreign rules, up until this period, havanams are performed only as per Krushna Yajurve:dam, but Swa:miji took efforts to revive the havanam procedures as per all the 4 vedas are commendable. Sri: Swa:miji later conducted 108 Swa:dhya:ya jna:na yajnams throughout Bha:rath, including in Thirumala, and have instilled faith in everyone about Vedas. Sri: Swa:miji in his vibhavam have encouraged many to learn yajnams and gave stipends for Vedic students. Due to Sri: Swa:miji's great vision to combine Scientific study of Vedic Yagnams with modern Sciences, there started a 'Ve:da Ve:da:nga Pa:tasa:la' in Nadigaddapalem, which is now evolved as present day 'Jeeyar Integrated Vedic Academy'.

Later Jeeyar Puraskaram is awarded to Brahmasri: Vishnubhatla Subrahmanya Sa:sthrigaru by Sri: Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. Sri: Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji in his anugraha Bha:shanam explained that we can protect Vedas only by helping people who learn them, and not by recording them in books and CDs. A Veda Panditha who respects, cares and loves this Vedam can make hundred more pandithas like himself and thus preserve the great culture. Sri: Swa:miji asserted that within the capabilities, irrespective of their castes people should follow their duties as per the scriptures, and that is true Vedic dharma, not just reciting some manthrams. Any person of any caste practising his prescribed duties of Veda is a Vaidika, not just the Veda reciting Brahmin.

Sukla Yajurveda mastered students of Vedic University are conferred Ghanapati and given certificates. Devotees who took part in various kainkaryams such as Tribal schools, Blind students' School,.etc are honored also during the occassion. 'Maithra:yani Sa:kha 3rd part', 'Jna:nam', 'Ma:ta Theeru' books are released during the occassion. Sri Ve:nkata:chala Mahathmyam - a volume book is republished and released on the auspicious day. The award program took place between 11:30AM to 2:30PM. The Vedic University students entertained the crowds with their karate skills.

Maryadas (presents) from almost all divya desams are presented to Sri: Swa:miji and this event took place between 2:30PM to 5:30PM. After evening anushtanams and Thiruva:ra:dhanam, devotees from East Godavari District Mandapet fired many crackers to celebrate Sri: Swa:miji's thirunakshathram as Deepavali in the Asramam.
